Dayton Sideshow 15 is Cancelled

At this time of year, we are typically announcing that one of our favorite events, Dayton Sideshow is coming up. Unfortunately, Dayton Sideshow 15 is cancelled this year, due to the everything going on in the world right now.

Even though Sideshow is cancelled this year, we wanted to show our support and love for this event.

Here are a few of our favorite pictures from past Sideshows.

Crafty Con 2020 is Cancelled

Due to the everything going on in the world right now, one of our favorite events to attend every year, Dayton Crafty Con is cancelled for 2020.

We always look forward to this fundraiser for Sideshow, and are saddened that the event isn’t taking place this year. As of right now, Sideshow is still scheduled for May (look for our post when it’s closer to the event).

Even though Crafty Con is cancelled this year, we wanted to show our support and love for this event.

Also, in light of Monday’s storms that have deeply affected the area, our friends at Gem City Tonight are taping on location at Hannah’s Bar at 121 North Ludlow Street tonight starting at 5, and hosting a fundraiser for the Dayton Tornado Disaster Relief. Anything you can bring will help; toiletries, monetary donations, canned goods, etc.

Crafty Con
Friday April 6, 2018 5-10 PM

The lure of hand crafted items is enough to get Dayton Unknown to come out. If it’s not enough for you, Crafty Con is also a fundraiser to raise money for Sideshow, a free celebration of the art and music scene in the Dayton area.

A lot of our favorite vendors from years past will be there again:

Dayton Unknown Spotlight: Laurana Wong

Back in October, we hosted the Dayton Unknown Fall Scavenger Hunt at Wegerzyn Gardens. It was a beautiful fall day, and we had some great submissions from our participants. We awarded two prizes, one of which is a feature story here on the blog. Our winner of this prize is Laurana Wong – an incredibly fascinating character.
We came up with fifteen questions we thought would truly showcase Laurana’s personality and told her that she could pick and choose which questions to answer. In true Laurana form, she decided to answer all of them! We hope you enjoy learning about her as much as we did!
